Our sauna cabins are built to order here in Canterbury, using durable New Zealand Thermowood and premium materials throughout.
Each cabin is engineered to handle our local climate and crafted to healthy homes standards — insulated with NZ wool, framed in steel, and finished with low-VOC oils and paints for a clean, lasting environment.

We pair every build with HUUM’s award-winning Estonian heaters to deliver a truly authentic experience.

Cabins are made to order only, with an estimated lead time of around 10 weeks. At present we’re unable to offer custom alterations outside our set designs.

A larger internal layout can be achieved by omitting the external porch and seat area and fitting a wider panoramic window in place of the geometric one; this configuration requires a higher-output heater and is priced accordingly.

Each cabin reflects the care and materials that set Canterbury Saunas apart — solid Thermowood cladding, wool insulation, and clean, honest design built for real use. From framing to finish, every detail is chosen for performance, comfort, and quiet beauty in the New Zealand landscape.

  • Floor cassette: 227 mm thick

  • Door: Solid TMT timber door

  • Windows: Double-glazed safety glass

  • Air barrier: Magnesium oxide rigid sheet — breathable and moisture resistant

  • Finishes: Health-based glues, sealants, oils, and paints (low VOC)

  • Electrical: Fully pre-wired and certified by a New Zealand electrician

  • Heater options: HUUM Drop series with digital or Wi-Fi control, or wood-burning upgrade

  • Lighting: Optional ambient lighting packages

  • Assembly: Delivered assembled and ready for installation
